The Chinese steel industry has paid more attention to minimize CO2 emission. In the past two decades, China attached great importance to energy saving and made great achievements on it which lead to the decrease of CO2 emission. Since 1990, the energy consumption per ton crude steel has decreased by(302% ~585%) per year in average. The energy consumption of the main large scale steel enterprises in China is at the same level as the advanced steel enterprises in foreign countries at present. The technologies of dedusting without water, utilization of the byproduct gases, wasted pressure and heat have been improving. The statistics of energy consumption is also improving. Advanced technologies, such as “lowcarbon metallurgy” and “noncarbon metallurgy”, have been developed or under going. In order to ensure the development of our country, it becomes a longterm and urgent task to reduce CO2 emission by eliminating the enterprises and equipments which is not suitable for the development of our steel industry and further development of energy saving technologies.
