Abstract:Antibacterial Cu-bearing stainless steel (SS) is a kind of novel metal material with integrated structure and function. At present, it has stable industrial scale production capacity. A variety of antibacterial Cu-bearing SS have been developed for daily life, medical field and marine engineering equipment, which are used to deal with the microbial contamination problems in the corresponding filed. In order to explore the development direction of antibacterial Cu-bearing SS, the research progress and application status in many fields of the key properties for antibacterial Cu-bearing SS are reviewed synthetically. Furthermore, the new problems and challenges brought by the times are analyzed.
