Abstract:Adjustment and changes of blast furnace type design, air inlet area, gas utilization and furnace caking were analyzed for No.8 blast furnace in WISCO during 11 years production from beginning at 2009. By gradually reducing air inlet area, sufficient blast kinetic energy was ensured to activate the hearth of blast furnace. Focus on the air flow, amount of central coke and marginal ore distribution were adjusted. Dynamic balance was maintained, which required proper development of central air flow and proper suppression of edge air flow. Good production efficiency of blast furnace was also maintained and cumulative utilization coefficient reached 2.36 t/(m3·d) during 11 years. The hearth of blast furnace was in good condition and also had the condition of long life.
