Application of high pressure grinding roller edge recycle process in pellet production

Abstract:Using edge material circulation technology and combining with the production practice of Sansteel belt roaster, the high pressure grinding roller(HPGR)pretreatment of iron ore was studied.The results show that by increasing the high pressure roller mill edge material recycling process, the specific surface area(Blaine) of iron concentrate has been greatly increased, and its ballability has been significantly improved. The more proportion of edge material recycling, the better performance of Blaine increase and ballability. The pellet feed was pretreated by HPRG at 50% product cyclic loading in a closed flow path under the 8% moisture. Experimental results show that all indexes of green pellets, fired pellets and Blaine much higher than those of the pellets made of the same feed without the pretreating. The specific surface area of iron concentrate increase to 1 650 cm2/g, the drop strength up to 10 times at 0.5 m, the return rate decrease to 15%, the compression strength of pellets was tested up to 2 678 N, and the bentonite ratio decrease by 1.1%, which not only meets the demand of strength for commercial pellets and energy saving for enterprises.
