Abstract:In order to study the smelting process of Mn18Cr18N high-nitrogen austenitic stainless steel, smelting technology on Mn18Cr18N high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel was investigated by using turbocharged induction furnace and protective atmosphere electroslag remelting. Alloy nitride and pressurized nitrogen infiltration were used to increase nitrogen in smelting process. The results show that nitrogen content increases with the increasing of nitrogen pressure. Skin blowholes are inhibited when nitrogen pressure increases by 0.03 MPa. The inclusions are generally reduced in the experimental steel after electroslag remelting, and the small square TiN inclusions are the main ones.
