Abstract:The scale characteristics and formation mechanism of high aluminum bearing double phase steel were investigated through pickling line tandem cold rolling mill simulation. The results showed that fish scale type red scale defect is prone to generate at the hot rolled strip surface of high aluminum bearing double phase steel and chromatic aberration defect is prone to form at the cold rolled strip surface, which were affected the surface quality. The Al element enrichment was found at the interface between steel base and scale because of high Al mass fraction. A black particle band of Al2O3 with 20% Al was found at the interface between steel base and scale of the sample when simulated at 1300℃. The enrichment extent of Al could be progressively eliminated by decreasing the heating temperature, with thinner effect layer thickness. Based on the previous formation mechanism research,it was proposed to eliminate fish scale type red scale defect by decreasing the tapping temperature and process temperature.
